Before the Tournament
 

Q: Who is eligible to play in the City Junior Championship?

A: Any boy or girl between the ages 8-18 that is a competitive junior golfer. They must live within 50-miles of Auburn/Opelika, Alabama. 


Q: Is this the City Junior Championship for beginners?

A: No. The City Junior Championship is for competitive junior golfers that have tournament experience (i.e. U.S Kids Local Tour, SJGT, AJGO, AJGA).
 

Q: How do I register my child for the 2026 City Junior Championship?

A: You may apply to the 2026 City Junior Championship by filling out the Tournament Application. This does not guarantee your spot in the tournament.  The tournament application deadline is Monday, July 13th AT 5:00 PM CT.
 

Q: How much is the entry fee for the 2026 City Junior Championship?

A: The 8-10 & 11-12 age groups will play 9 holes each day. The entry fee is $55. The 13-14 & 15-18 age groups will play 18 holes each day. The entry fee is $95.
 

Q: What age group will my child be in?

A: Whatever their birthday as of 7/21/26 is they will play in that age group. If they are wanting to play in an older age division, please email the Tournament Committee.
 

Q: Will I receive an email confirmation if my child is accepted to play in the 2026 City Junior Championship?

A: YES. 
 

Q: Can my child play a practice round at Auburn University Club and Pines Crossing GC?

A: If you are not a member at Auburn University Club you will not be able to play a practice round. Pines Crossing GC is a public golf course so you may play it any time before the tournament. The junior rate is $25. CLICK HERE for their tee times. Let them know your child is playing in the City Junior Championship July 20-21.
 

Q: If my child is playing in the 8-10 or 11-12 age group, which 9 holes will they be playing at each course?

A: They will play the FRONT 9 (holes #10-#18) at each course.
 

Q: When will round 1 tee times be sent for the tournament?

A: You will receive your round 1 tee time on Friday, July 17th.

Q: What times will my child be teeing off each day?

A: Tee times will approximately be between 8:00-11:00 AM off both #1 & #10 tee each day.
 

Q: What is the refund policy if my child needs to withdraw?

A: You will receive a full refund if you withdraw by Wednesday, July 15th. If you withdraw after July 15th there will be no refunds.
 

Q: Are parents allowed to caddy?

A: For the 8-10 age group caddies are MANDATORY
A: For the 11-12  age groups caddies are ALLOWED
A: For the 13-14 & 15-18 age groups caddies are NOT ALLOWED

 

Q: Can I walk with my child during the round?

A: Spectators are welcome to watch but must stay on cart paths and maintain a proper distance. If you are not caddying, coaching your child during play is not allowed.
 

Q: If there is bad weather and only one round is completed what happens?

A: The championship will then be a one round championship. No refunds will be given if one round has been completed.
 

Q: Can I purchase a spectator cart to watch my child play?

A: Yes. Spectator carts can be purchased for $30 at each course on a first come first serve basis. There will be no refund for spectator carts for bad weather or round being cancelled.




During the Tournament

 

Q: Are range balls included in the entry fee?

A: Yes. Range balls are included in the tournament entry fee. The driving range at each course will open 1 hour before the first tee time.


Q: What should I do as a spectator?

A: Support your child silently, follow all spectator guidelines (stay on cart paths, no advice or coaching), and encourage sportsmanship and etiquette.

 

Q: What do I do in case of weather delays?

A: The tournament committee will notify families via text or website.

Q: Can I purchase snacks and drinks at the course for my child?
A: Yes. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase with credit card at each course. We encourage all spectators to support both courses by purchasing snacks and drinks from their snack shop.

 

Q: Will there be water on the golf course for the players?

A: Yes. Water will provided on both #1 & #10 tee.


 

After the Tournament

 

Q: Will there be an awards ceremony after the tournament?

A: Yes. Each age group award ceremony will be held immediately after the last scorecards are signed in that age group. Families are encouraged to attend and celebrate all players.

 

Q: How can I see my child’s scores and leaderboard?

A: All scores and final results can be found on GolfGenius.
